Hey Alex. That's a different route! Gin Rin Kigoi gives the sort of contrast I always think of yamabuki ogon providing. Does this one have red eyes?

Quite a collection you are assembling.

Hey MikeM,

Yes it is actually a Ginrin Akame Kigoi. Just added to Alex's Pond to test out a growth experiment he is taking on. He wants to see how much growth he can put on in his ponds, so I had this Koi in my personal pond and told Alex I would be willing to put it in his pond for a while, as I am helping him in this experiment.

Sincerely in Koi,

Jesse Reyna

Shiro Utsuri is also one, I provided for this experiment, its a Omosako Shiro. He wants to see comparisons between this one and his Kaneko Shiro Utsuri.

Sincerely in Koi,

Jesse Reyna

Very nice Jesse. Great that the two of you are able to share your hobby like that. Willing to explain the growth experiment?

I have an akemae kigoi. She's the oldest lady in my pond. she has fukerin
on her lemon yellow and it looks almost gin rin in the sun. Her and my sakai shiro both have this. I believe it is the results of being in quality water for a long time. I really like the shape of the kigoi and think she will
grown nicely with her big head and shoulders.
