SMG! How did your koi do in the show?

I am still disgusted. No doubt I had the best "worse" koi in the competition. Grown especially for this award. A pitiful looking but very healthy gin rin shiro muji with the ugliest yellow/brown head possible.

Unfortuanately I was over confident and decided no bribes were necessary given the appearance of my koi. I WAS WRONG!! It was totally about the bribing the judges. My poor Gin Rin Shiro Muji was donated to the fish auction and obcurity. I am visiting Wal Mart starting tomorrow to find my entry for 2005. NEXT YEAR I WILL SUCCEED!

Lane, I will be at the Koi Kichi show in November at Eastern Nishikigoi...Hope to see you there. Not sure about Phx or SD as my son will still be in wrestling season.... 3 more years of that until I make those shows gain it looks like

Yes Dick she did win BV Asagi. And guess what? She is now a size 8. I have a picture of her at the show, just let me get my camera program reloaded and I will post it for you. It has The Velvet Elvis in the picture also.

Yea I know and in a really big one that reticulation just keeps on going by and by as they swim past you on the surface till you feel like you are going to have a seizure. I know you know the feeling! :wink:

In a galaxy pond far,far away........Man that is some kinda "minnow"....!

I just noticed my Asagi female is growing.( I call her Kimiko) she always hugs the bottom of the pond and likes sinking food. Well the other day she came up side by side with my "Iggy" showa and they were the same length! Wow, my little asagi is growing! She was around 17 inches when I got her this spring and now she's up around 23"! I have a niece of hers that is 15 inches now.
Her reticulation (asagi-han) is still splochy grey as she is only 2. Next year it will be fun to watch her turn the aqua marine blue. A bit more red than I like but two different looks for me to enjoy.

The baby asagi's I bred this year are not growing inside, think I have them too crowded so recently divided them up abit to thin the herd. The metal braces are being constructed and getting ready to be put in place
for the additional greenhouse space needed. should be ready by next spring!
