Upgrading the forum

Folks,

We will be upgrading the forum software (actually, replacing it completely) this weekend. The new forum will be more robust, and allow a better user interface, and better membership options to build on going forward. We are also doing this in order to provide better options for our sponsors as well.

All messages/accounts/avatars etc. should migrate over smoothly, but we will not know for sure until the process is complete. We will manually try to move over anything that didn't make it during the automatic migration process.

You will notice the board being down for about an hour sometime over this weekend, and we suggest that you check back later to find out the status of the upgrade. The user interface will look quite similar to the current one, with a few modifications. You will notice an option at the bottom of each thread to translate it through bablefish, which we've incorporated as a courtesy to our readers located in non-English speaking countries.

As always, thanks for your support and please keep checking back to see the status of the upgrade. Passwords anc accounts may not copy over so cleanly, so feel free to drop me a mail should you have any access issues post-upgrade.

If you can ensure that you do it between around 9am and 3pm your time that'd be just fine mate, no problem at all. :wink: :wink: :wink:

Thanks for making things better!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy that your incorporating bablefish! I have tried in the past
to welcome those whose main language is not english and encourage them to post because of the tremendous boost in knowledge. this will go a long way in helping!

Not yet, tried but failed. I need to wait for the developer to return my queries before we try again.
