This is kind of a dumb question to be asking bloodline, when most of the breeders in and around Niigata have lost parent stocks.

No, not a dumb question.

What happened was very unfortunate and I am deeply saddened, but life goes on.

The crazy thing about all this is that Kevin was showing us pics of the trip and to think that everything now is destroyed. What a shame!!!!

Yes, it is a shame. We just got back on Thursday from Niigata. Were we purchased some awsome koi from Marudo and Shinoda. And so far we know that everything from Shinoda is gone. We think that our new 29" Kohaju from Marudo is safe in his new green house but the other 5 fish we got from him, were in his old greenhouse next to his home. We know for sure that his home was distroyed, but our hoping that his green houses somehow managed to stay intact. God be with all those in the Nigata area.

Lucky, I went to Southern Japan for my first time. I was worried about my Kohaku I had in the green house and the typhoon. But, shot I feel very sorry for those people who were going something to bring back or leave koi in Niigata.
