oh yeh i once read about some aquaculture in hawaii doing swords and the like, some feasability type document and instruction..

its a big farm yes and hard to manage, im planning to just work a section of it.
only been here two months at this one, worked on three farms now picking the brains of those in the know i guess.
weve got these pesky little gambusia fish all over our farms here, cant sell em, cant remove em, just yesterday we let some fry go and then saw these fish surfacing up the other end of the pond and decided not to stock more in because theyd be getting all eaten up.
i know it was a bad idea to have no screen made up for the new big pump but i swear they cross ponds too in the rain or something.
those guys are tough as nails, fresh salt, hot cold, chlorine..
once worked at this farm with crab louse too and thats a pain.
what sort of aquaculture did you used to do? australia is still young for this thing..

I sure have enjoyed this thread!

Back a few pages arthur mentioned feeding watermellon etc. I knew a guy who fed his koi watermellon from mexico that had been sprayed with a toxic poison.

I think I'd want to be real sure of the stuff i got. probably be concerned enough to buy local organic even if it was expensive!

At least he didn't eat it himself Dick. That would have been far worse!

The first snowbells are out now but the weather isn't stable yet. It will stay cool the first part of this week. Pond is still near it's minimum level qua temps at the moment (8.1*C / 46.5*F). I'm hoping for some warm weather soon so I can take the covers off and start feeding again.

Dick: The winter must be getting to you. Just mid-February and you're looking for signs of Spring.
