All I want for christmas is to have my neigbor let me buy a few acres of woods next door with the creek running through so I can buldoze it down and turn it into mud ponds

The property in question is in the background of this picture !!

Mapleman,
Get my neighbor to cut down that monkey pod tree, and your year supply of mac nuts will be on its way...

Merry Christmas!

I hate to admit it Akai, but my koi ponds are under a 50-foot monkey pod tree. That was the spot available and nobody wanted to cut the tree. Not something I would recommend though as there are bushels of leaves falling right now and the pods start falling in number next month. The filterd light in February and March is actually pretty good, but it becomes as shaded as our living room by May. When time permits, I need to put in a much larger skimmer. The old one fills up in a few hours and I am just doing without right now.

What I'm taking for Christmas is the time to catch and cull through this year's tategoi - something I've been looking forward to. I see mostly junk down there, but a couple that could be interesting to watch.
