KFG, that's a Japanese breeder carrying those koi in the bag, they know far more than we ever will.

When it comes to moving hundreds of smaller koi as these are, nisai I expect, it is often necessary to put many koi per bag, less the day would not be long enough, one at a time, back and forth.

Maurice.

I never would have thought in 100 years that anyone would have thought that I was allowed to handle koi of that calibur So to give you "proper context" as to who is carrying these koi... I better include this picture

Personally I transfer my koi using rubbermaid containers. After reading K2K, I see that Plastic bags have not been around for very long. I wonder what they before that to move the koi around ?

Ah hah Maurice, gotcha. That comment sounds like something a rookie would say....

The pond being harvested in that photo is Shintaro's breeding stock.... Big $$$$

Maurice I am sure that the Japanese breeder know alot more than we do about koi. but what I saw does not mean that what they done was right. If they were takeing the koi to market well they sure are handleing them harsh. Maybe I am wrong but I sure would not bag my koi like that, eveything that I have read tells me not to net a koi that is that big as it can break their back. Well guess what I done it. I broke one of my koi backs, well after that I learned to bowl koi. I did not see enought water in that bag to make the koi bouyant, they were packed in the bad like sardines
Example--- I am very good at cleaning house, bad day sometimes and guess what I dont alway do it right. LOL

GREG so sorry to have blamed you. Please forgive me.
