That's the one Steve, I'll try and find the time to explain my findings.

But I have treated with success.

I've not the time this evening to post the explaination, as dinner has been called!
But here is a series of 9 photos taken over a 12 day period.

This koi is still alive, well and living in my collection.
I'll post details and more photos of another tomorrow.
Maurice.

Hi Maurice, the fish I lost looked as bad as the one in the last picture and then died. The only options I had were to leave her in the pond or put her in my quarentine /growing on tank with some small fish,in an effort to treat her, as all were lost I now know how stupid that was!!!

yep thats what id seen, in both koi and goldfish. well done to bring it back.
better than the back of the pliers..

i was thinking of inside tumours.. kidney or even cysts on the ovary or something.
something similar to how humans get those problems and swelling too.
wonder if they could grow koi teeth and scales inside of em.
one of the fish i had had all the watery mess inside a sack and not just free in the gut cavity. i never tracked it to what organ it belonged to.
i spose the one you sliced may have had an inner membrane also and you cut through it.

The last looks like the one I had too. This must be somewhat common. Anyone know the cause?
