Based on the announcements, I can apply for a Program Manager, Engineering Division Supervisor, or Architectural Branch Supervisor.

Okay, break it to me gently...I just went to check online maps for general areas of Japan. The only thing that I found out thus far is that I will need to travel through several areas or locales before reaching Niigata. They are Kanagawa(Where I hope to be), Tokyo, Saitama, Gunma, Nagano and finally we reach Niigata. I'm just guessing that this is approx. 3 hours away. Can somebody shed some light on my fears. In Hawaii, the longest I care to commute is 45 minutes. I average 20 minute daily commutes to and from work (Thanks to our H3). Unless I need to pick up kid from town, then its 45 minutes. I guess if I leave Kanagawa at 0600, 0900 is a reasonable hour...breakfast on the road . Just like the golfing days.

Carl:

You'd probably be better off taking a train...faster...However, be prepared to pay airline type fares on Shinkansen...By car, the tolls along the way are almost the same...plus Gas was $4+ a gallon in '98 hate to see what it would be today...If your new breeder buddies don't have a place for you to stay figure on at least $50/night/person at at guest house or 150/per/night at a hotel, if you can find one...

If you drive to the H1-H2 intersection in Ewa each weekday morning at around 6:30-7:00am for about a month, it'll get you ready for Tokyo traffic...Or you can go to a full parking lot, park your car, and sit there for 1 hr...it's about the same....

Lived in Denen Chofu, on the Tamagawa, drove to Kamakura most weekends to surf, about a 45min drive...Tolls were US$15 each way and cheap parking at at the beach was $20...If waves were pumping, cost was $100 a weekend. lucky we live Hawaii...

Sorry, didn't call back last night, got back later then expected. I'll try tonight at a more reasonable hour.
