Well, since you say the shine does not come across well, should I fudge my views??

I'll go: A, B and C.

A because the best shine in the group, deep colors, sharp pattern edges, decent conformation; but I do not like the pectorals in relation to the body and the dark nostrils are distracting.

B is my favorite, but unfortunately not much lustre in the photo. She has fine body shape, good proportions, the best silver-white and the cleanest head. I'd put her first by a long distance if only the photo did not come across as very poor on shine.

Chas much to say for itself, but in comparison the pattern is not sharp, the shine is low, the face is not clean .... so, I'd put B ahead even if B does not seem to gleam quite as much.

A,C,B

Bi's pattern needs more sumi to come in and is not as finished as the others. I like the body on C, but for today I think A is right for the show.

I have seen this color variety in a beautiful orange and fantastic red and both have their appeal in a good fish. But a good red one is very haunting....

your right even as tosai you want to find one IN THE SUNLIGHT while selecting
that has that deep metalic sheen. I have seen on many a day in the NW koi hunters looking at koi inside the building. you need to see these beauties out in the natural light!

Thumbs up

Ok here is what I think.
A has good pattern and deep hi and you can see the dark scale better than the rest.
B I like this koi because of body but thats it.
C, na not a good koi
If I was purchaseing the koi it would be A for me. In the long run I think A will bet the rest.

My favorite Kujaku of all times. I've seen it twice at the All Japan Show.

Well with Hikari Moyo it's hard, the only way to look at these fish is under natural sunlight...So if I were to see judges judging this fish in doors I would have to say something...Well anyways, since the pics suc, we could only judge by way of pattern and reticulation of the scales...

A or B with c 3rd

At first glance A appears to have acceptable sheen, strong color and matsuba development. However on second glance my impression is the body maybe a little short for the size of it’s head. Pecs maybe a little small also. Or it may just be the photo angle?

B seems to have better conformation and the best sheen. But undeveloped matsuba and weaker hi.

C seems to have OK conformation but the least sheen.

I think a toss up between A & B from what I can tell in photo’s.
C is 3rd.
