Vanhove,

Its a top mag and has lots of very intresting reports and articals.I think you will find the same answer from most people on this subject. The magazine is not a big thick massive one but the quality is 100%.

You need to get a copy of KB. I have subscribed formerly to everything under the sun. I receive only KB now. Few ads. Great info. You will not be disappointed!

It does depend what you want from a magazine.

If you love lots pictures of newbie's ponds, short snippet stories and lots of adverts, KoiBito is not your magazine.

If on the other hand, you want to read some in depth interviews with some of Japan's top breeders on how they go about their work, plus in depth articles on koi appreciation, then KoiBito if definitly what you're after. As already said, few adverts and not the thickest of magazines, but every space/page is worth reading many times over.

By my calculations, roughly £50 for 6-magazines. You pays for what you get!

I currently receive KoiUSA, the Mid-Atlantic Koi Club Magazine, Nishikigoi International, Nichirin, electronic English Rinko and Koi Bito. I no longer receive Koi Carp and various pond & garden magazine types.

For written content about koi, Koi Bito is the best. For pictorals, it is similar to Nichirin, but without the goal of reporting every show.

If I could get only one magazine, I'd have a tough time choosing between KoiUSA (because it is the most widely read in my circle & thus a social connection) and Koi Bito (because it is the better magazine). The only criticisms I have heard of Koi Bito are: (1) there are not more issues more frequently, and (2) little or nothing written about new equipment for the koi pond. It is about the koi, not the manufacturers ... maybe that is why there are so few advertisements? If K-B had as many ads as some of the mags, Brian would have a much easier time of it and K-B would be twice as thick.

I'm not looking for some pictures of ponds which is nothing wrong with but I like to find out more about the breeders and the why they go about their work. You all seem to be 1OO% for it ,I'll gues will be to then.
