my namely, you missed the part about -- LOWER THE PH IN THE POND WATER WITH PH DOWN ( Its an over-the-counter product) TO EQUAL THAT IN THE BAG.

This is putting the fish in the SAME pH but the water is 'ammonia free'. There are many flaws in every techique including this one- as ammonia will pour out of the koi in the new bath, but I used saltwater technique to illustrate how koi are sensitive to pH and temperature change. The 'test subjects' being very delicate saltwater creatures. This illustration hopefully expresses an ultimate concern and reality- namely, the koi's greatest gift and therefore perhaps its greatest curse is its ability to survive abuse and not show it!

Sorry I do not speak or understand 'Douganese' well, but I'll take a stab-

If you are saying that people in different countries can't get aquarium grade over the counter products, that is not so. Most of the USA mail order companies sell outside the USA. The UK has its own homegrown equivlent of THAT FISH PLACE or Dr FOSTERS & SMITH. I'd bet money that KENT aquarium products , a UK based company makes a PH doen product and it is carried by the Queen's subjects in the mail order business. Others that make a similar product are --
Seachem
Wardley
Aquarium Pharm

Is that what the ambassador of Douglandia was asking? ( the scary thing is when I read the posts by Doug I always hear the ' Douganese' in a Donald duck voice?)

Sorry, JR

Yes, somehow I missed the important fine print! In the future I would adopt your technique of the proper way to introduce a new arrival fish. I will not forget this lesson. MA Le
