Is it possible that all real big Chagoi (when talking about real big Chagoi i mean 90+ cm) are grey/green or at least not dark? All pictures of such Chagoi I have seen were at least such variants.
I mean most Chagoi, if you count all, are brown or something in that direction, but the big ones are not or am I wrong?

Aquitori,

Very nice chagoi you got there. She got great body.
I'm consider lucky just to lost a chagoi. Heard from a friend that someone he know lost a koi that cost well over $10k to a similar case like mine.
Our country have a lot of foreign workers from 3rd world Countries. They most probably have not seen a koi before & think it a good idea to have free big fish.
Predators from mother nature is not a problem here but humans!!
I have since put up alarm system to protect my other koi.

Good question, Hauns. Hope somebody has an answer. I prefer Soragoi, but never have seen one as large as the green-brown Chagoi.

chagoi's

I would suggest a Hirasawa chagoi, for quality and less likely to have shimmies ( My own Findings). The three chagoi pictured are from Marudoh in picture they were nissai now sansai they are looking very clean, again very much tea/green colour. And the mass chagoi photo you have to guess which breeder. For those of you that no Niigata well should be no problem. These chagoi I find are Browner and I have had some fish with shimmies, Oofuchi chagoi's I find come out with shimmies, but have had excellent soragoi from this breeder.

A lot of posts in my thread...

I decided against the Chagoi, because it's male and the eyes are to close together, for growing big.

But I bought another Koi.

Watch this Thread and give some comments
