kin ki matsuba (2 months+)

just wanted to share ... how a matsuba started out plain and then getting the matsuba scales in just 2 months.

note: sizes do not include the tail

I love these pics I would have though that the koi was a yamabuki Ogon from the first pic untill I had a good look at the next..Is this the way all the Matsuba start out. Thanks I have learned something I did not know, the scales that are coming in are very black, will they lighten up as the koi grows or will the sumi stay that bold?

yeah, at first i thought it was an ugly yamabuki ...

its my first time to have a matsuba koi, so i wouldnt know if they all start out like that.

my water seems to have a good effect on "black" markings

LOL, nice humping flys in the 2nd picture.

That koi looks like shes full of eggs. Being that small, with that size of a belly, I would wonder if that fish was older and stunted.

i think you might have helped me figure out some of what my "hurricane Spawn" might be..... HEY PICKAL, IF YOU KEEP ENOUGH OF THOSE PLAIN JAPANESE FRY TSOME OF THEM WILL DO THIS.

This I already know Luke. Remember, I have been breeding koi for 6 years now. I can tell by looking at the first picture that there was development yet to come.

Here is one I knew had some potential, saved it....
