| Callum: Very nice. I had a Hasegawa that I very much liked, but proved to be male and went to a new home. There is a tendency for Hasegawa Beni to deepen to a bright red with age, brighter than the orange-reds of some Kohaku lines. And, there are often very curious "modern" patterns. (Your's is more traditional.) For a long time his success was largely due to Western interest in his fish more than domestic Japanese interest. However, since Sakai obtained some Hasegawa stock to include in his breeding program, I've been told that Japanese interest in his fish picked up. I think you will be happy with her. |
