O.K., D@z, here is the only pic of Junior I could find. She is special to me, but not because of how she looks!

Ok, my biggest is a hosokai asagi. Some of you (especially DickB) might remember I have posted this photo before. It was a sansai, born in June 2002, measuring 67 cm in March 2005. It should reach more then 70 cm now.

I was just about to post of my largest, but now having read the last post from Daz, I'll have to go and find some photos first!

My real dream is to have my own bred as my biggest koi. The way things are going, I'm sure this will be the case in time.

Mine is this Goshiki. I just got it so I don't have the exact measurement but its 20+ inches. My biggest that I have grown myself is a kigoi that started out at about 2 inches and is now 20 inches.

My biggest koi is a special female sanke from Momotaro, I was very fortunate to be allowed to purchase her.

They expected her to reach 1 metre, but sadly she broke her back in 2 places while spawning 2 years ago. She was then placed into a 500 ton pond for retirement, which is where they had planned her to spend the rest of her life.

In March 2003, while visiting Momotaro they gave me the chance and gamble to buy this koi. They stated it was and would still be their number one sanke parent, but for the damage. There was no guarantee it would travel to the UK, let alone every breed again.

She measures right now 84cm, not counting the bend, she is really 86cm or over, if only she could be straightened out!!

Two photos posted below, the first at Momotaro, just prior to spawning at that crucial time and one taken by me a year later at my home. I waited forever for this shot, as this is the straightest she ever gets. Most of the time she looks quite sad with her bends. she is very slow at feeding and difficult to get any weight on, but her life is happy, living with 6 other big koi.

I bred from her last year and one of her babies will be the BKKS National show next weekend, a tosai of 37cm.
She will be spawned again over the next 2 weeks

Maurice.

Looking at the 2 photos, it seems she is still growing, but only on the front half.

Look at the distance from her nose to dorsal in the 2 photos, she is much longer in this area, but not towards her back half where the damage is.

She has not been measured since I have had her.

Maurice.

Pirrock! It was March 2004 when you bought her! I should know... was there I reckon that she probably measures about 82cm now, but if you could iron out the kinks... maybe 88 to 90?

Well... I photographed by Chagoi earlier today, but no pic on the card!??? Anyway, 'twas one of Maurice's, that measured 46.5cm two weeks ago. Already 48cm! Am on a mission now, to grow it faster than any of it's similar sized siblings that reside in other people's ponds!
