Hi Aq, IMHO I like the 3 step pattern and it balances side to side. Perfect hi entry on the head. Skin is pinkish but shud clear up when older. Sumi is a guessing game, i dont see any solid pach of tsubo sumi except one dot near tail and on the left side too. Tsubo sumi near dorsal shud appear to expell this concern.

Body. Head is big and long. tail tube a bit thin but could be the angle of picture. Need more distance between end of dorsal fin to tail since it often indicate big fish in the making.

A very good pick for a tosai, but the slight demerits are probably the reason why it wasn't grown on.

The sumi on the shoulder looks good. But, on the other hand, there is perhaps too much underlying sumi on the front of the fish. If all that color stays and the sumi comes up then the pattern will be front heavy.

On the other hand, I've got worse in my pond.

The one thing this Sanke has is "Textbook Kohaku Pattern"....Sumi is still coming up which will be interesting to see how heavy it will be...Beni is light but I think I will get thicker as it gets older.

Pick the red to win, and gamble on the black!!! Nice fish....If I spotted him first he's be swimming in my pond...lol. I like the kohaku pattern a great deal. I believe its eventual "worth" as a show fish will depend on how the sumi develops. It will be an interesting one to watch. Good luck!!!
