to me, money can't buy:

1. my youth, the good old days
2. peacefulness in mind, or enlightenment.

My goodness, Jen...what's up with Stephen at Koiphen? Did he discover a SHOE that FIT him? I didn't even mention his name here, yet we're lumped together. ROFLMFAO!

I can't figure out how to paste on a post here, so the link to the Koiphen thread is the title. Anyone know how? I think your comment to Stephen about growing up is right on the mark, Jen...and I'm sure it won't last long there.

Can money buy you everything in this hobby? I was just thinking if I was a millionaire could I actually get everything I want? or would there be things left out?
I would also have to say NO. I don't know what it is like to have a lot of money, but I do know a lot of people with a lot of money. I would say most let it go to their head. I have seen a outstanding koi that was bought by someone that was in a millionaire club, and now the koi doesn't look half as nice. So I would say yes money can buy you a lot, but knowledge it a big part of this hobby. I have seen people that can take very nice koi and turn them into outstanding, without being a millionaire.

Also a millionaire isn't much these days. If you were a millionaire in California and a lot of other areas, you're not going to get a lot. So I think you might say billionaire.

Welcome Newt!

Tom

Talking

Let's avoid any references to person(s).

While I am very proud to say that I earned everything I have; my favorite quote is "Money can't buy happiness, but it sure makes life easier"....

Newt and Jen if you're not happy with other boards please don't bring those issues to this board. This board is about the hobby and the good people in it. If for some reason you don't like what's going on, on other boards delete them from you favorites and you will never have to deal with them again. That's why we are on this board.

This board is growing everyday because of the good people on it. Welcome again and hope to leard a lot from you two. Lets get back to the koi talk.

Of course I agree wholeheartedly, Tom and Bancherd, and have no intention of bringing hassles to your fine board. When I see Momotaro discussed by some who have never even seen his setup, though, and the talk is led in a 'less than complimentary light' towards those who deal his fish, it makes me take note. Then, when KoiBito is mentioned on that board with me (and Jen) being accused of being 'bashers,' when I don't see anything said about any one 'person,' well, I couldn't resist pointing those comments out on here.

Some people like playing the martyr while taking pot shots from the safety of their 'flock.' I'm sure we all know people like that. It's known that one's dealings with breeders in Japan can suffer when poor attitudes and insults get known there, no matter how much money one has.

My bad.

Please feel free, everyone, to discuss things that have no place on this board at Newt's, and also join The Mud Pond and help us out there. I hope to add when I can to this esteemed board, and again, my apologies.

Cheers!

Newt

i think its time to bury this thread ...

this is the only forum where the only mud thrown is from the mud ponds, lets not change that.

apparently, it is a topic a lot of people want to railroad as a flaming thread. to ambition or to dream is good, but to envy and be jealous is evil.

Molly, dear, whoever you are...I do not 'finance' any **** sites, homosexual or otherwise. Koiphenator.com points to a site I have no involvement in. You'll find that TheMudPond is a legitimate, serious koi board, and NewtCity is, well, NewtCity.

Please get your facts straight before insulting me, and let's do as asked and not bring hassles to this board. You may email me at MayorNewton@newtcity.com if you want to discuss the 'truth,' if you are at all interested in that. Most people who make comments full of hate like yours aren't.
