High plate

Can sumbody explain to me what a high plate is??

My quess would be that the person who used the word was referirng to the red
color on a particular koi. There are many discriptive words in japanese to discribe the red color, but in this case i sumise the word Hi ( correctly pronounced as He)
was what was meant. The word plate would seem to indicate all of the red
as opposed to a particular portion such as a second or third step.

for example the hi plate seemed a little weak to me.
