Breeder trivia Part 4.....

There are 2 famous brothers that recreated the father's bloodline, the elder of the 2 inherited the family farm, the younger more famous, built a farm for himself and married Nogami's sister. The question:

• What are the names of these 2 brothers?
• What are the Farms they run?
• What is the bloodline they recreated and made famous?

Bonus:

• What bloodline did they cross to create the new bloodline?

This is pretty hard so I would study hard to answer these 4 questions.

2) Sakai Matsunoske and Sakai Hiroshima
3) Matsunoske

Bonus:- Rebred Magoi into the line to regain better body conformation.

Gotta admit i really enjoy this, as i am forced to use all my knowledge and rersources to learn. As a new koi hobbyist of around 18 months, it is good to push my boundries of information.

The breeders and there bloodlines are people i like learning about. Hopefully our game will help people gain knowledge themselves.

I think Sakai Hiroshima is different from Matsnosuke

Yeah, Saki Hiroshima is not one of the farms...

Yamamatsu - elder brother Toshiyuki Sakai
Nishikigoi Center Isawa - younger brother Toshio Sakai

Both brothers share a space in Nishikigoi history as the founding fathers of the "New Matsunouke" bloodline which incorparates Magoi bloodlines. Everyone now uses the Matsunouke bloodline koi in their breeding and the brothers can say 1 meter gosanke is no longer a dream.

The Sakai's have been my hero's for more years than i want to remember.

One thing i don't think the public is aware of is that Toshio breeds many different color varieties other than his kohaku and sanke lines.(matsunosuke)

Kukaku, Koromo, goshiki etc many of which have magoi bred into them as well as his famous go sanke. My favorite koi in the world is from him and his magoi breeding.(yes she's blue!) my koi kichi bought a shiro from him and raised it 2 years over there and got a first in the all japan show with it in it's size category.


the more you learn about toshio, the more respect you have for his drive and ability!
