International is a wonderful involvement indeed. I just wish the Japanese could participate being they are what they are. Wish the traslation could be done so communications were easier. How could we debunk a person (Japanese) with so much interesting information to tell? I would stay up all night reading a verbal account of a koi show in a small Japanese town.

How about the Nihonjin chronics like me and Mac , what forum do they watch?
If there are any Japanese Hobbyist out there reading this board they will think we are all crazy!!!

Red face

Hold on here, we be crazy? How about a Tanuki... for starters. A strange creature that stands by road side on its hind legs, wetting passers by with his enormous body part , the size of eight tatami mats. What a site that would be!!!! Maybe I will stay in the US and talk to Joe on cell phone.

So far, it seems that we've only attracted the Japanese hobbyists that want to play the role of sage, and one I'm convinced to be a bit mentally unbalanced. It would be nice to have some more input from Japan, but I'd advise any of you to be careful of the lone hobbyist in Japan that wants to "take you under his wing" as there's usually an ulterior motive at work. I speak from experience...

Yes Gary, but Tanuki is also what you called a Phoenix bonsai.. Driftwood with no root and a plant next to it to make it look like shari...
