Trivia: Of the pair listed, which is the bloodline and which is the keito? Did the result produce a new bloodline or simply a keito?

Question

Okay now I am stumped. I thought a Keito was a bloodline.

Keito means trait. Brian can give you a more accurate definition. Keito and bloodline are different. There are no true bloodlines for Showa and Shiro Utsuri but there are keito for those respective varieties.

Yagozen is correct...

Trivia: Of the pair listed, which is the bloodline and which is the keito? Did the result produce a new bloodline or simply a keito?

Generally when a farm creates a new keito they name it after their farm..i.e. Dainichi...Farms will only do this after they feel the koi they produce is stable in bloodline and consist in production.

Keito is basically the same thing as bloodline it's just how you use the term. Keito is how they trace back offspring to the parents...
