Brake san-
Here is what I would suggest. You have $2694 to spend. I would go to Marudo. He has good kohaku, sanke and showa. I would buy a nissai. Tell him I sent you- I'll send you you a picture of Mr. Hirasawa and myself so he'll remember me(that will help me on my next purcahse). Tell Mr. Hirasawa that you want a nissai, you want a female and you want to spend $1500. Then tell Mr. Hirasawa that you want him to keep the fish for two years to grow out. The first year will cost you $300, the second year will cost you $500. Now tell Mr. Hirasawa that you want him to select three fish to choose from. Tell him you are looking for subarashi beni. After you have the three fish bowled, select your favorite but them ask Mr. Hirasawa which fish is the best of the three. Place a lot of weight on which fish he selects as the BEST. Take a pictures of the two best fish. Leave his premises and examine the pictures over dinner. Return the next day and make your selection. You will have spent $2300. The dealer will typically get 20% on top of the purchase price or $300. Now you are at $2600. Take the $94 and have a real nice dinner to celebrate your purchase. In two years, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
