Red face Colors of da koi poopie..

Got kind of sparked off of Nancy's thread when JR explained "If the koi is 'off' white feces will be produced."

Do different colors of koi fecal matter mean different things?

I would imagine that it does. Maybe it's similar to reading tea leaves?

I have read that clear, long stringy feces indicates a health problem, but don't know what the specific problem would be. Maybe others on this board do?

Dont know about different colors, haven't heard about that one...Kinda interesting thou. I thought the differences between the feces floating or sinking was the digestion problem.

Normaly the excrement are brown , somethimes a little red (if your food contain pigment for the color), and they must sink.
If you find transparent and glassy faeces floating on the water surface, you better take a sample for microscop examination, it is possible to find the presence of worms, worms egs or some protozoan flagellate (hexamita for example wich are similar to Costia but with movement like spermatozoïds).

From what I have noticed, if you feed your koi orange color food the poop comes out orange and same thing with different color food, if its green, green poop if its blue, well this is just from my observation.

Who was it that cut the blueberries in half and feed to their koi, I bet their poop was not brown
