WHEN i GO, i USUALLY GO WITH PETER WADDINGTON.
i PAY HIS COMMISSION ON EVERY KOI I BUY, DIVIDE THE COST OF THE
VAN AMONGST PARTICIPANTS. hE BOOKS THE ROOMS AND GETS US A JOINT RATE. yOU PAY FOR MEALS AND FLIGHT OVER. fOR UNLIMITED TRAVEL YOU GET A RAIL PASS AHEAD OF TIME FOR AROUND $200.00.

iF YOU DON'T HAVE A GUIDE AND ARE BY YOURSELF, YOU BETTER OFF CONTACTING FUJIO OOMO FOR HIS SERVICES. sPEAKS GOOD ENGLISH. kNOWS HIS WAY AROUND IS FAIR ON HIS COSTS FOR SERVICES.

Chris,

Just vacation trip to Japan or "koi bying trip to Japan"?
Never take any "koi buying trip to Japan", but been there
twice as family vacation. The last trip we did three years
ago as a "vacation packet" arranged for us by a Travel
Agency. This 10-days vac packet included airfare, hotel,
meals, and bus tours to many places for total of 3K per person.

This is much less than the first trip we went there that all
plans were done by us.

Regards,
--Dinh

A few people are talking of going to Japan on here (koi trip, not a vacation trip), and I just thought I'd put up a post, to see how the veterans responded, maybe get some info on good food, highlights, etc.

If I was to go I try to go with Kevin Pham if he'd let me.

Maybe next fall I might want to go, but it's just a thought this year, to much going on here.

Wel since you fly out of SFO and I do as well I wil lgive you some roudn about prices. Keep in mind the Yen changes so much and airlines has a new tax on gas..

SFO flight Japan ailrines JAL is about $800

Hotel depends. we stay in Ojiya closer to many breeders.. $350-400 ish

JAL railpass First class about $350

Food depends we are always on the go so we pretty much pick up something at the local market.. I never keep track by I think #150 covers it..

Rental car.. Don;'t even try the international lic. cost to much just ask Mike Snaden

the guide is the broker so you end up paying a percentage..

Joe
