The BH with holes in it looks like a "biggy size" version of Siporax.

Luke, have you ever considered making your own. Its a pretty simple list of ingredients and I have the ratios. All you need is a kilm. I think I remember you had extensive experience with ceramics as a hobby? JR

JR,

I do have some electric, gas, and wood kilns I can use, a good porcelain body should have enough FIR-emitting potential....the big roadblock is how to get the pores.

High-tech

Sawdust in the clay--will burn out when fired. Or you can use any other wood product.

Hey Carolyn welcome to the board...

Me personally I like the concept of a stainless steel shower in my pond, but too damn expensive...probably get a 10kg box of Bacteria House and try it out....Maybe we can get Ikea to make a stainless steel shower for a 3rd of the cost.

Well anyways, maybe if I ate some refresh took a dump in a can, throw it in a kelm and fired it at 1200 degrees, I would get bacteria house already seeded...Kinda interesting dont you think.

I know a guy that knows a guy that has a second removed uncle, that has a son that does fiberglass. He might start making fiberglass bins.

The key to the system is the Bacteria House. The shower doesn't have to be fancy...Plan on putting some in a bucket with holes on the bottom and see how it works...

Inexpensive Bins already available

Steve Castel, scastel@tec-automation.com , has already developed and tested bins for this application... Was selling them for $125 for a set of 4 delivered anywhere in the Continental US of A... As of yesterday, he still has some open sided bins available...

If you contact him, he may still have a website showing the application of the bins...

Have had them installed on our ponds for a couple of years and they're holding up great...

Aloha! Mike
