My take is..... its a government conspiracy to force the public into conserving resources and help eliminate greenhouse gasses otherwise global warming is going to bring on Cat 5 Hurricanes EVERY YEAR. Get out the scrabble board, its going to be one long boring stuck at the house year.

Seriously tho, what better way to make people to switch to alternately powered cars...

Higher fuel costs, higher shipping costs, higher prices all the way around. When will it ever end?

i HAD PLANNED TO MAKE A 4 HRS RUN TO OREGON THIS WEEKEND TO LOOK AT AN AKA MATSU (RED PINE) i WAS INETRESTED IN BUT AFTER FILLING UP MY WIFE'S CAR AND MY TRUCK. WELL i THINK THAT'S ABOUT ALL I CAN AFFORD!
i PAID JUST UNDER $3.00 A GAL. tALKED TO A KOI KICHII IN CAROLINA LAST NIGHT AND HE SAID WITH RATIONING I WAS LUCKY TO FIND GAS, FORGET ABOUT WHAT I HAD TO PAY FOR IT?

i QUESS THE THING THAT BUGS ME IS THAT 20 NATIONS HAVE OFFERED US HELP AND WE HAVE NOT ACCEPTED ANY OF IT? one thing I've learned in life is that both the person who receives and gives gets something from the experience. Why deny either one.

Hi Dick,

In Japan, it's around $4.12 per gallon (about 130 yen/liter) and we've always been used to paying well over $3 per gallon. Luckily, the "family car" can get between 35-50mpg, so we don't feel the swings that badly.

Guess you'll have to spend even more time on the board then? Our redesign is almost done, so you'll see some exciting enhancements very soon!

One way to beat high gas prices anyway...

I just came back from the Sierras.. I was traveling through Yosemite and the Gas was $3.80/Gallon..

Lucky I got me a Motorcylce it gets me 60mpg also save me money cause I cannot buy koi and haul them.. LOL

One Mentor of mine from Rock Climbing had told me long ago..

Do not let the price of Gas ruin your time for having anytype of fun..

Dick! AKA Matsue? Let me know if they have another. By the way I was up in Sierras and saw many Sierra, California Junipers, Also many Black and white pines in 10,000 elevation.. So they were natuaral bonsai...

we the americans are the most wasteful creatures ever live on this planet. Ga is only one of the many thing we have been wsting. Look t all the SUVs running on say, highway 101 with only the driver in it, look at all the cars that are running idle in parking lot. I don't know how to link SUV with 101, OK, 101 is not in great condition, but hey, there isn't any open manhole or unpaved section on 101. May be I am stupid, but if I call many of the SUV drivers 'dump ass', I don't think they can say the contrary.

I encourage all americans to ask themselve this question: how many sheets of napkin do you use when you eat fast food ? 5 ? 50 ? Almost every get done with 1 outside of US.

We account for 5% of the world population, but consume 35% of the world's resources. Do we deserve to cosume this much of the resource ? I think it is highly questionable. Compare to europe, whole account for less than half of the world's resource consumption, where is see the different in quality of life ? No ? not that visible ? how could that be ? The answer is simple, we are extremely wasteful.

Compare to the rest of the world, $3 gas is dirt cheap. I like to see it hitting $10 per gallon. Sure, things will get pricey, but we will conserve, at least those who cannot aford it will conserve. If we keep doing what we have been doing for the last 40 years, our children will have nothing for their days. Maybe they will find their ways out, like becoming the alien in the movie 'July 4'. But wait, since we are a bunch of dump asses, I don't think they can become that smart in a hundre years or two. If they do, I think they will success where the alien failed in the movie. Reason: we are extremely good in killing with no remorse.

I live in Atlanta, and I can tell you the highest I've personally see has been 3.25... some people are reporting that in Midtown prices are higher than that. We have a LOT of stations that are completely sold out of gas, though!
