What up with Genki Koi? - Koi Forum - Koi-Bito Magazine

It seems like koi sold by Genki are winning shows all over the place. Most dealers win show in their local areas, but Genki is starting to kill a lot of the shows.

Koi America 8/05'- Congratulation to Tom Hatfield for winning numerous 1st Place, imported by Genki Nishikigoi

Denver Koi Show 8/05'- Momotaro Sanke received Male Champion (dealer competition), imported by Genki Nishikigoi

Chicago Koi Showa 8/05' - Congratulation to Sue and Dick Emeric for winning Junior Champion -Shiro Utsuri, imported by Genki Nishikigoi

No only does Kevin have a eye. Kevin is one of the most honest people I have met. He could have sold me a koi that I thought I wanted. But Kevin pointed something out on the koi to think about. It still was one hell of a koi, but not what I was looking for. I wish Kevin was a lot closer to me. I would be at his place every time new koi came in. I have two koi in my pond from him. I am very happy with both.

Ditto, Kevin is the man. I live about 1 1/2hr away, and thankfully so, if I lived any closer I'd be broke, and overstocked!

When you walk around his place you can see he doesn't sell "junk".

Chris you're luck just a 1 1/2 hours away from him. I'm about 5 hours from him. I think I'm going to have to get the Koi Unit guy's to send me more pictures as koi come in.

To the Koi Unit guy's. Next time Kevin gets in a green chagoi like the one Joe got. Please don't let Joe see it, and give me a call.

Joe if your going to check it out, make sure you have a little time to spend at Genki. You might get the chance to meet some of the koi unit guy's. A great group of people. One of the guy's knows a lot about goldfish. I don't think you will find goldfish at Genki, but I might be wrong. You will see a lot of real nice koi.
