Showa for comment

this is a friend's showa that i'm keeping while his pond is being completed.
born mid/2004, bought at 22cm in Feb 05, 47cm in Sept 05.
we're still wondering whether it's male or female. body looks like male, but a third party dealer looked at the vent and said female.
from Sakai Hiroshima, offspring of Wakayamaboshi.

Wow, what amazes me is the placements of sumi which incidently emerged mostly on the shiroji - I think you call it tsubo sumi for sanke but what do you call this in showa ?

Body frame (height) is desirable with good length between tail and last of dorsal fin. It seems a bit slim but i think it is better to gain lenght first then girth. I think it will be better when the body opens up showing the shiroji that it lacks now. And also expectation of menaware or hachiware is just matter of time. Great specimen ! Love it !

Did the fish show signs of obushi in early spring? Well anyways, looks like both fish you have posted has gotten alot of growth. I like the heavy pattern and this Showa maybe when it reaches 4 or 5 it will be stunning. The head I have a issue in that it has a pointed nose. Keep us up to date on the growing of this Showa and the Kohak...

Sorry it's male.

Quality Hi from the photo, and one of the best Sumi patterns I've seen in a long time.
