You just spent the amount of money for a koi that you thought was absurd a year ago.
or
You find yourself in your jammies (or less) holding a flashlight in the backyard at 2 am.

You wake up, go straight to the back yard check all the ponds.. Have a quick smoke, go back and dump settlement chambers.. Run to computer do koi club paperwork. next go to koi-bito and check out what is going on.. then head of to work.. where you log back on to koi-bito..

Or in Joe's case work from home and never log off of koi-bito.. LOL

This is a great thread, been there. Had a ammonia issue a few days ago, up till wee hours doing water change. Only took me a month to spend what I had thought a month prior to be an absurd amout of money on a koi. Here is mine, immeadiately after you construct your pond, or even during construction, you are planning the next, bigger, deeper, pond.

Dubtaco...then by your definition I ain't Koikichi yet....themudpond.com...the lakeluke thread under pond construction.
I ain't even considering making a bigger one..there are a couple of spots left where I could put in some small 5-20 thousand gallon ponds.

You wake up at 6 am to do your first fish feeding then get food ready for your toddler and infant. You then feed the koi again another four times a day at three hour intervals and feel bad when real life gets in the way and you cannot be there for the koi. Also when you spend every dime you have on the hobby without living in the dog house too often.

You buy shrimp and inform the family it belongs to the fish, not to touch it.

You're 9 months pregnant and, although miserable, you hope you can hold off going into labor until after Brady's sale at his facility this weekend so you can make it down there for at least an hour...

Hi

When you flunk your job interview so you won't get the job and you can finish your pond.

When you go to England for the first time in your life, just to select two koi near London, and return straight home with them, without seeing anything in London.
