Kohaku dob 11 june,04, so 14 months koi are sized at 20 inches. That is amazing. The new age on jumbo koi is becoming more and more common. Tosai at 50 cm., nisai at 70 cm. I would like to see the koi Mr. M is keeping to grow on. I wonder if customers get a glimpse of them?
To keep the jumbo females Mr. M recommends 100 ton ponds minimum. That's 27,000 gallons more or less needed to grow these koi shown at auction to full potential. The 1500 ton pond contains customers koi, so that must be what these auctioned koi are swimming in . An Olympic sized swimming pool holds 2700 tons of water to give you an idea.

You are probably right. After visiting Keirin Koi and Genki Koi websites, you realize how stupid people can get about Koi. I would call that Momotaro stupidity.

This auction is global which makes the auction lets say challenging. The koi are nice in the pics.. MORE Stunning in person. Momotaro stupidty.. Dunno what what that means I will leave that one alone.. . But I know when a koi gets bought that I am happy for everyone whatever they paid. I guess you gotta be there to see it. Also to see some of the top breeders and dealers there bidding on koi makes you think.. Gotta be there for a reason...

Wish I was not having to work. I could spend the weekend looking at each of the mini videos. .... I like Showa 34 also, Dick. Did look at that video & amazed she is a young fish. So many koi of such quality. Amazing.

Luke, Momotaro is in Okayama.. So not part of the Niigata quakes.. Okayama is in the Southern Japan and about a days ride on train.. They do have quakes but landacape is much different...
