| I just got back from the show Mike:
It's about 4:20 pm our time. 174 fish entered. Gene Gowen, who took reserve last year with a Daiinichi male showa took top honors as GC. Rich Street with another male took reserve. It was a kohaku from kawakami, that his wife picked out as nissai. They kept telling her no, it's a male but she insisted. Both of these fish could be female to look at them. gene Anderson from Idaho promised to post pics Monday or Tuesday on this board.
Great judges this year Norm call, larry christianson from Oregon and from California Henry Nakamura and Tekemi from california koi farms.
The weather was really nasty in the am but cleared about noon, and was actually nice when I left.
saw lots of people, and got to visit with some from the yakima club. One of my shiro's that I bred took a best in size. Our Chris C from this board was asst show chair and will take over next year. If I remember right she got some awards with her kohaku and shiro.
Kinda sad now that the show season is over. I will really miss the people... |
