Are most koi hobbyists early morning people?

WHat time do you wake up and is it to toake care of the pond and its residents?

Just wondering as every morning I cannot wait to go out and flush my settlement tank.. note too self: ( get a life)

Joe,

If I don't know you personally, I would thought you are still SINGLE

I consider myself somewhat koikichi, but I am seriously nowhere near you guys' level of dedication

My earliest wake up time is 7:30, I always go to bed around 12:00 to 1:00am.

I always wake up 5:30, out to pond to check on fishes, dump settlement chambers. Husband is up at 4:30 to check on them and go to work.

Check the pond before getting ready for work. Feed the koi kids while the tub is filling

I'm a night owl...can be out working on my pond at midnight. Actually got bitten by a spider 2 weeks ago while working near my filter at night. I went to the hospital and was there until 1am. Fortunately, no bad reaction, so they let me go home. I didn't see the spider..but saw the fang marks and it hurt like hell!!! I was a little scared it was a black widow or brown recluse spider(both dangerous)....Nothing but drama by my pond this season!!!

I am a morning person, but it is too pleasant a time of day to spend it flushing settlement. I save that for afternoons & evenings.

I am up around 8 to 8:30 in the morning, but give me a good couple of hours to really wake up. Most of the time I dont have a lot to do early in the morning, since I am not a full time breeder, when the time comes I am sure I will be up before the chickens and ready to go.
