What do you guys prefer? Spring?.......or Fall?.....and why?

I kinda like Fall better. It's very exciting when the larger fish come in! We get to see the best of the best. Some of us who are more fortunate get to see their fish get harvested straight out of the mud pond. Excitement levels are heightened to all the hobbyists going to their local dealers to see who's got what! Everyone logging on Bito to see what others have purchased.

The overall aspect of either spring or fall. I think that if one goes to Japan, it doesn't end their. People will still look at all the different sites to see all the new fish that are arriving.

Right now I am starting to feel "the change". the Pond water was 82 today..the lowest since it was filled in june....A normal Winter's Day here is in the mid seventies...so until Summer rears it's ugly hot head it will be a delight for me and the koi....
perhaps i couldn't be considered an appropriate hobbyist to answer this Question...for the First of Autumn tells me that I have 9 months of good weather...even the cold days of Febuary, where it often barely gets to 70 are blissful in their "chill".

This is hard for me as I have been to Japan in fall and spring... I will start with fall as it is the time where you get to see what wasnt culled out last year from tosai.. and like Rob says if your lucky you will get to see if your lucky your koi that you purchased from a year ago.. This bring me back to SPRING.... when you get to see the selection they are keeping kowing what next fall brings.

Did I go into a full circle

Well I guess for me I like any season for koi..

back at home on the Monterey Bay the fall is the best time no matter what.. Pleasent weather and hotter than everywhere else..

I like spring because I know it only brings warmer weather so I can watch and wait as my koi go into our growing season.

Has to be spring time to start warming up the water and buy loads of growth food and then to watch the koi grow.

It does help that british winters are horrible, full of short dark days "yuk"
