Nice site Jay. Great view of SFF parents and excellent koi for sale or were for sale. The one Showa that caught my eye was Ogata bred, a stray . Those prices are Euros quoted I guess. A nice 45 cm. Sanke was 980 or so that must be about 1186 dollars. Not bad

Thank you for the compliment. The Hi Showa from Ogata is really great. She played Mature Champion in a Dutch koishow in May. We were very proud and we still have her swimming here. She's a real eyecatcher. Every koilover I know appreciates her qualities. She is our proud.

Great site and some awesome fish. Tsuki-Tsuke Rose in particualr caught my eye and the Sanke Pegasus is my personal favourite.

Hi Jay

I've checked the site from 't Viske many times before. There's a SFF nisai nidan kohaku I like very much.

I've also seen the showa on both dutch shows. It looks awesome. I was very surprised it didn't pick up any prizes at the second show in Arcen.

Too bad Benibana died, because that was actually my first choice oyagoi. I'll be selecting nisai, so maybe there's still a chance. Did she die before or after she spawned in 2004?

What exactly do you mean with flexible hi. That the hi stays uniform if you bend the koi?

Can you tell me what the body of a SFF kohaku should look like as nisai. Should it be long and slender, and will the volume come later, or will a SFF kohaku like this never become a jumbo with a great volume?

How about the backbone, should it protrude, or should it be hardly visible?

Indeed the Hi Showa didn't play first but second price, but I was not dissapointed because the first place Showa was of our customer and the fish also came from our shop.
For the bodyshape of SFF koi I would look for a nice body like a sigare, but the body may not be overwellming, otherwise the growth will be dissapointing because the body will increase with age.
but the body and the backbone is always different depending on the parents or the bloodline

Hhhmmmmmmmm, slowly I'm getting the impression I should do an apprenticeship at SFF to get the knowledge to be able to select a SFF kohaku the right way.

Jay, that one of your customers won is great. I bet I've seen that one too. But what you did at the Koi2000 show was awesome, winning four major awards.

Your thinking exactly like I Reg, you and I are ready for an apprenticeship and maybe as close as Belgium for you. My teachers are in California, just a hop, skip and jump from Florida.

The showa of our customer was a SFF Showa of the bloodline popeye. we bought her as a sansai in april 2004. When I saw her swimming in hte pond at sakai I was really shocked of the impression she made.
We were very proud with all the awards we have got on the show. For us it's an award for all the effort we made in all the years. I didn't expect it. I was really surprised.
