I don't think there is any way they will ever know how many died exactly, how many moved, how many were eaten by gators, and how many were washed out to sea. Very sad.

I think the cleanup teams are going to have to spray the whole area for biological disaster, and search for contamination. The problem with the BHM idea is the shipping cost for that much media, not a bad idea though. They could just drop huge crates of it in the rivers and streams to filter. if I can secure the contract I think Carl should let me in on it......lol

Then they woudln't have to pump it around over and over, just strategically place the crates so the water passes a bunch of times in rapids areas. Otherwise it's not even going to be safe to wash your hands or shower there for years, and forget about drinking the water. I think one thing they will have to sort out is how to deal with the affect on the surrounding area's biology and agriculture. Upsetting the balance of nature can have nasty consequences. This storm definitely did that. BHM could certainly help set that right.

One thing though, the drinking water there now opens a door for water bottling companies to help and to make some money. Help now, be on the block to make money later. Let's see what happens. Might be a smart stock buy, buy now when margins are low due to giving water away, sell when it rises due to the sudden increase of sales with no end in sight.

One of my business associates keeps trying to talk me into a water purification and bottling plant. He will dig the wells (we have great soft water low tds here in some places). He already has four wells ready and waiting. I am not going to do anything until the equipment to purify and bottle appears to do it with. Every grey cloud has its silver lining. I am about to talk to the dept of agriculture, let's see what they are thinking about that issue. I know the current companies cannot handle such a large area suddenly being totally dependent on bottled water for drinking, cooking, and bathing on no notice.

You really got me thinking now kk, why did u do that? lol

i heard the govt gonna spend 260 billion on repairs construction companies must be laughing their way to the bank. Maybe check out the construction side of things JG

lol good point tewa, the other reality is that most of that money will be handed to insurance companies with the excuse 'they would otherwise be bankrupted'-as if the government has a responsibility to bail out companies that dont make payouts anyway.

More contractors have been bankrupted by non paying insurance companies than any other single cause I am aware of. They get the contractor to do the job way too cheap in the first place just to get the job, then they make lame excuses to not pay. Personally, I hope this thing bankrupts every uinderwriter in the country. They need to go, nothing but crooks with politicians in their back pockets so that accountability for paying claims responsibly goes away. It is a racket.
