i hope ive got this right ...any chance of seeing a pic of this possible champion homebred gosanke that Brady has bred...any pic will do for a start...new or old...its frustraiting hearing so much about it but not being able to picture it ourselfs .

in fact its allmost pointless even discusing it without something to go by .

Kevan, this puzzles me as well. It could be the first US bred GC but it hasn't even been picked yet?????

So no pics as of yet.. Just other Pics....

If it happens as always I am happy for the winner of this whoever it may be..

I tend to agree with Mr. Benbow.. with all the stuff happening over in Japan, this could happen sooner than one would think and would be a milestone for sure..

Kohak: A red and white koi. Slang for Kohaku. This word was used by Daisuke Maeda when at the Momotaro Koi Farm. Example: Kohak is in mudpond.

I hope this clarifies your question.

I would be happy too if someone produce an Domestic American standard jumbo of 27-28" to beat a Japanese standard Jumbo of 30-34". If that ever happened what would that prove? What is there to prove? Now my question is why are the prices of High Grade Domestic koi just a bit less than Japanese Bred Koi when they should be way cheaper?

I think, taiwan, china, thailand and indonesia will come up with many GC before we american do. The reason is simple, you can be a koi franatic, or lunattic , in all places, but given the cost of living in the US, lunatics here may see themselves starved to death before they can come up with a GC. If they don't, they have no place to export their production. For lunatic in Asia, there is a place call USA to export thier production, they can always sell their koi cheaper than the domestic breeders.

This is the fact of live one always face: when you get hungry, you get cranky (I remember running across this line, who said it ? could it be Bruce the big white shark ? ). When you can not feed your family and pay your bills, koi hold no beauty.

Stan, you are right in the fact that those other Asian Countries are far more KoiKichi than here in the states. Looking at the amount of money they spend to buy the parent stocks it's crazy. For any of us who have Nishikigoi monthly or Nichirin magazines just look at the shows. These guys buy only from the top breeders and top bloodlines. I have a friend who has some Taiwanese Koi and I have to say they can win any show here in the states with conformation, shiroji and pattern. With this in mind I can say a Domestic Koi from another Asian Country will win GC before a Domestic American GC will.

Trivia,...

Aquitori,... a "Sixteen Candles" trivia question for you:

What does Long Duck Dong refer to his "woman" as in the movie?

Best Wishes,
Brady
