Am I mistaken?

I saw where Brady donated a "Champion" for the Koiphen show. Did I miss read it? Did it say "Grand Champion"? Or are there people making assumptions?

I think even using the word "Champion" is an assumption since I do not believe the Koi has competed yet but is believed to be of that quality for its size perhaps?

Brady, do u have pic of this GoSanke the guy on the other forum saying it will win GC? I mean if you have a written contract with them saying you can't that's cool...We will leave the image of the fish to our imagination.

Most of the "Asian" koi I see not from Japan are absolute cr@p. For sale way below what I could ever sell a koi for, from government subsidized production shipped at no charge on governmnet owned airlines, and sold for hard American currency, many times at a loss.

Nope, I can't compete with that. My government makes me get permits and licenses that cost time and money to administer, I don;t get any subsidies at all, if I do make a buck, the government takes forty percent of it.

Also, I'll see an AMERICA bred GC long before one of those bad koi from China, KHV infested junk from Indonesia, Korean wannabees, etc. ever makes a GC.

I don't call a fish a "Champion" unless its taken a championship prize. Then the term applies for life.

To confirm and clarify,...

This thread has been an interesting one,... please ALL keep in mind what "I" personally have said on this subject. "The details haven't been worked out yet",... despite what you have heard or read.

I have no interest in my farm receiving "bad press" for what was/is a good cause. I have agreed to donate a "very nice and large" Koi to be auctioned off to support the KoiPhen Koi show - what I see as a gesture to support KOI SHOWS in general!

This fish is in one of my mud ponds here at my farm, and won't come up until late October! A Koi that is just up from the mud IS NOT IN SHOW CONDITION! Most Koi just harvested need months of conditioning for a show, to purge the mud from the system, flush the white ground, and fine tune the red and black. ALSO,... a Koi that leaves my farm is NOT coming back! That's part of my Bio-Security here,.. and it's strict!

This should put everything in perspective. Any other questions, please feel free to ask,... I'm more than happy to answer.

Yes, an American born Grand Champion is coming soon,... it won't be Charlotte, NC though, it may not be from my farm,... may be Texas, Louisiana, New Jersey, California, Washington State,... possibly even Arkansas ,... but it is coming soon.
Naysayers and sceptics can have their list of excuses ready,... we'll wear this one out then we'll move on to the 1 meter GC.

Best Wishes,
Brady Brandwood

Sixteen Candles,...

Hi Aquitori,

""Hey sexy lady".

HAAAA! I had forgotten about that one! I was thinking of the line

"You are my new style American Girlfriend"

That's a great 80's film!

Best Wishes,
Brady
