I don't think so...With what's in Japan to bring here and win...Domestic bred gosanke will never happen...

What I want to see is an American bred koi to win at the All-Japan Show...

Hey Aquitori/EDoc Decent Local Show 1st - Charlotte. Then take it to the Big Show in Nashville next September.

Japan might be a stretch at this time

Well, I certainly hope that Brady or Brett can prove you wrong.

As far as the All Japan show - that won't happen unless Japan someday allows the importation of Koi into the country

while I appreciate both of the gentlermen mentioned as breeders in America,
I think you do a disservice to not Include Mat Mc Cann at Quality koi.

He breeds quality japanese stock in New Jersey.

Dick, very good point. Mat is making great strides and is a great person to boot!

EDoc? Who the hell is that? I dont hide behind other handles...Everyone knows me as AKA Koi(-)Unit...So whatever is an EDoc is beyond me...Whatever...Dont bother me over here, cuz I dont bother you guys over there...

Getting back to the thread that Tim C/Chengro/Sarge/Yamakoshi started...Maybe a Domestic bred koi has a chance, but it all depends on the competition. This is here at the local US show...But honestly I don't see a Domestic Koi winning a major prize GC here on the West Coast....

Best in Size, Best in Class, Baby Champion, Young Champion, Mature Champion, all done years and years ago, ZNA SoCal, AKCA San Diego, among others. And that's just my fish, I'm sure there's plenty others from other domestic breeders.

No, no GC, yet. Its coming. Maybe Brady, Matt, Scott, Sam, or one of the host of others will beat me to it, if so I'll be just as thrilled.

Brett
