Louisville Koi Club - Lexington, KY Pond Tour

The Louisville Koi Club organizes a day trip to another city each year for the club members to travel and go on a tour of ponds in that city. In years past the club has made trips to Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dayton, Ohio and other cities. As a member of the club living about 70 mile away in Lexington, KY, I was asked this spring to see if I could organize a pond tour here in Lexington for the club. I did & the pond tour is this Saturday, Sept 24.

About 25 members of the Lousiville club will be traveling to Lexington to tour 7 ponds. Mulberryjen, Mike Pfeffer and I are Koi Bito regulars who will all be taking the tour. I'd like to invite any KB regulars who live close enough to Lexington, KY, that would like to drive in for the day to join us for the tour. We should be able to accomodate a few more people without crowding the back yards up TOO much.

Some nice ponds, filtration systems and fish to see on this tour. Some very nice people, too. Email or PM me for information if you have any interest in joining us Saturday.

P.S. I know there are some other koi folks that post (and lurk) here from this area. Dale's pond, filtration (and "house" for filtration), landscaping and koi are all kick butt quality. Taking camera to get some shots of the filter system that I neglected to photograph last visit. Don't know about the other ponds yet, but Dale's is worth the drive to see - top shelf.

I have had the fortune to visit Dale's home and see his wonderful setup. Excellent tour.

Dale,

Would be real nice if you can post some of the pond pictures after the tour.

We live just south of Indy and would have loved to have come down; however, we didn't see this post until yesterday and the hubby has to go to Ohio this weekend. I love Lexington and think it is a beautiful city and would love to see some of the ponds there. Any chance of doing this again next summer???

Aquitori, hubby said to tell you if you come through Indy on your way to KY or back from KY you would be more than welcome to come look at our koi pond. It's about 12000 gal and all of our filtration is in our basement. We're about 15 min south of the Indy Int'l airport.
