How many of you have some kind of shade cover over your pond? If you have one can we see what it looks like?

Pond Shade

This a Coolaroo Shade Sail, I have had it since May this year, and compare to last year it has keep the pond a lot cooler. They are really strong, specially with our strong winds, The sail is 13.5 feet , they make them bigger, easy to get a hold of one in places like ebay for about 70.00

Hope this helps

Jesus

Jesus, thanks for the info and pictures. They look real nice and I might just try one for the money. I had someone out a few weeks ago to give me a price on a real nice custom cover with roll down sides, but that was $2,500. Right now $100 or so sounds good. I'm trying to cut down a little on the temp of the pond in summer. I thought with the pond being almost 7' deep it wouldn't get to bad. The pond hit 91 degrees one day this summer. Just a little to warm for me.

Thanks again for the info, and welcome to the best koi message board around Koi-Bito.com.

Tom

Don, thanks for the pictures of your shade sail. With it being green does it make the water look green at all?

Thanks!

Maybe a skosh -- but that's a tradeoff, eh? Don

Tom, many of the Brits coat their entire pond with British racing green. With the light coat of good short algae a black coating is going green anyhow.

I like the green sail, looks cool.

Thanks for all the info guy's. For time being it looks like it's going to be a few shade sails (in green) for the pond. After I get a few and install them I will post some pictures.
