The start and finish of a new pond

We started with the second pond this spring and how it looks now after a summer of plants and fish.

VHPond, first welcome to Koi-Bito.com.

We always like to see new ponds.

Can you give us a little more info on it? Did you build it or have it built? What is the size of it? What kind of filtration do you have on it? What kind of fish do you have in it, and how many?

Thanks for taking the time to show all of us your very nice pond.

Tom

Hi Tom,
Thanks for asking.... We build our 1300 gallon pond in the spring.. our first pond is 250 gallons.. and just like other ponders.. wasnt big enuff... We used the savio waterfall/skimmer kit with the ribbon media in the waterfall. We have a uv filter in the skimmer. The pond is 8 x 16 x 4 feet at the deep end. Generic koi and comets are the residence. I lost count of my herd..but they all started at 3 inches and have grown to 8 inches this summer. The filtration is working great. The water is clear as can be.
Thankyou!!

I know this thread was a while ago...I am thinking of building a pond like this one. I want to make it 2 feet below ground...and 3 feet above. It will be 21X13 feet. How are these blocks secured? Is it cemented or locking blocks...or are they just heavy enough to stay in place with the water pressure? What did you use to level the ground? Thanks for the info?!?!
