How big is your chagoi????

It would be superb if the chag made the meter mark ,i doubt there are that many 100cm + koi in britain let alone being grown in this country and not imported at that size.I remember 4 chags being imported in around 1999 one dealer had there one for sale for £10.000.So thats not a bad investment for £100.00.How much water does your pond hold ,whats the stocking level etc

Ours was bought in 1992 and measured 32inches in April 2002, the last time it came out of the pond. My problem is that I dont have a bowl deep enough to photograph her, I suspect I don't have one long enough now.

She was bred by Hirasawa.

She's never been shown because her dorsal is damaged. We were told that it would grow back when we bought it. That was back in the days when I believed dealers without question.

This is my ginrin chagoi, bred by Marusyo Tanaka. I bought it 4 years ago as a 12cm tosai, and now measures 75cm as yonsai. i Hope it will keep growing for some years to come.

Yes we have really soft water, which is really great for growth.

72 days old. Brought up from the farm a couple of weeks ago. Am going to return most of them to the mud and keep a few here in the main pond to see
how fast each group develops. Should be fun!

Here's a picture of ours. We got her last year as a two year old. She's a lot darker now. I will have to pull her up to see how big she is. I think she might be about 22".
