forgot to add that taking magazine style shots works best in a rectangular tub anyhow. Most of the Fiberglass ones I have seen in Japan are lighter color.. But damn they are sure heavy...

where to buy?

this is an old thread but it has no reference on where to get one.

just wondering if anyone knows where I can get either lim bowl or japanese bowl for viewing? url would be nice. I live in the Bay Area so local shop is preferred. I checked the webpage for the 4 local koi dealers but don't see any "viewing bowl" list.

Well, not alot of our local dealers like to deal with Mr. Lim Steve...I do know Eastern has some Japanese viewing bowls, you might want to call and ask...You can ask Russ about ordering Hydra Bowls which are like the Japanese ones.

Eastern Nishikigoi, Just got a new shippment of Jap bowls and nets. There is also a new Viewing bowl on the market, it is the same color as Japanese bowls, and same depth, weight of plastic is the same. They are being made locally here in Socal, by Koi Ponds & Streams. They will be more expensive than the Wlim tubs, due to the weight and depth. but less money than the Japanese. they come in 25", 28", 36". Also a new measuring tub, looks like Japanese except not fiberglass, also the side walls are straight. Anyone that has benched at a show and used lim tub knows that measuring can differ from tub too tub, since the side walls are angled, the tub is 36" length.

Hi Nancy,

thanks for the info. those viewing bowls that made by local KP & Streams, are they on Eastern Nishikigoi's webpage? I saw a couple viewing bowls there with sizes 19.5 gals and 23 gals. Are those the ones that made by KP?

Steve
