I'm gonna rely on Garry to get the Best in Variety photos on here. His job tonight was getting those awards printed up!
I'm finally done double-checking all the results. Got the longfin award sorted out (one one longfin but I couldn't get it properly done for a while). There were many very nice kohaku in sizes 3-5 that didn't even get ranked; size 3 kohaku had over 10 fish, so the Young Champion had lots of competion.
Sorry about not posting sooner. Getting all the best in variety and various friendship awards certainly kept us busy. And THEN everybody wanted to know the results right away so I printed report after report after report!
The laptop even overheated at one point. Likely punishing me for forgetting to enter one of the Morales' fish (a very nice size 2 G/R Showa)! Should've been 107 fish in the show instead of 105. The 106'th fish is an interesting story; the little bugger was entered after the deadline and not benched but is in Ruben's tank. It made such an impression on a judge that it got a friendship award!
But no hard feelings! We're just laughing and enjoying the company of other koi kichi!
I believe I left off at size 5? Here come the rest!
