chris c's bonsai/asagi visit

just got back from the town of Cle elum in washington states east slopes of the cascade mountain range.

It's about a 2 hr drive thru Snoqualimie Pass to her 22 acres in the woods.
Beautiful home and view. Amazing the neat people you meet first on this board!

Got to see the excavation site for her new greenhouse. Gonna be quite the facility and so far back in the woods you'd never suspect anything like that!

The little asagi looked dwarted next to her big girls. the cascading Contoniaster
had a nice mugho pine and Juniper for company.

When Chris told us she gets 3 feet of snow in the winter, we pointed the mazda
westward back over the mountains to wonderful albeit wet Seattle...

hard to say what i like more, the neat hobby or people associated with it!

Thanks Chris ( and Brian) for helping to improve friendships!

How many people can say they got their first Asagi as a gift, hand-picked by the foremost Asagi enthusiast in the koi world??? Little blue fish is swimming happily in the winter tank. Thank heavens for sinking food, or s/he would never get any! Now the challenge is to raise her right.

Dick and Joann also brought me a lovely cotoneaster bonsai.

It was such fun to spend part of a day with them, and you would never know to look at Joann that she had ever been ill.

Yep--koi keeping is a terrific hobby.

Dick: I really think it is time for some photos of those Asagi. Anyone visiting Dick just has to take a camera!

Dick, we're going to have to get you a digital camera. You have too much to show to get away with those excuses much longer.

BTW, didn't McCann spawn his Asagi again?
