Hi Bob !!

Hello Bob,

Nice to hear from you......as I was aying to Jan T, it seems a long time since the K2K launch party and our vist then to the McCann's great pond (with several other coutrymen of yours I recall). I have attached a couple of pics (I hope) , for fun, from our visit to the McCanns ...happy memories !!

I hope too that your new pond build is going OK now ?

Realy looking forward to getting up into the Mountains again with Tim and Den again soon, but anxious to see what it looks like now as, like you, we have sooo many great memories of how it was. Take care.
Kindest regards, Mark & Ritta

Are You A Bonsai Lover?

Edit by moderator- Fourbonsai or whoever you are, You have some nerve coming here and trying to turn a very nice nice post about how helpful some people can be into a shameless plug for your business.

An update on Maurice's bonsai

Well, as this post has made it’s way back to the top (!) I thought that those of you who like bonsai would like to see how Maurice’ Scots Pine bonsai is doing.

After growing on in the polytunnels over the winter, and with some generous feeding and Maurice’s care, the new buds (candles) were already extending in April at Koi UK’s first Open Weekend of 2006.

To many, it will look like we have pruned off all the new growth ...but not quite !

The aim then was to prune back hard the new growth in order to stimulate the development of many new “back-buds”. This will eventually develop the greater foliage pad density required to transform this potential bonsai (“potensai”) into a fine bonsai. The dead wood areas (jin and shari) were treated with Lime Sulfur to preserve and bleach them.

Maurice tells me that the pruning is already producing results in the form of many new buds ! I hope to see the tree again at the next Koi UK Open Weekend on the 3rd and 4th June.
