Nishikigoi the Movie DVD dissapointing

well i recently bought Nishikigoi the Movie on DVD i had it on video for many years and it was one of the best introductions to nishikigoi i could have hoped for.

however...

the dvd is VERY POOR QUALITY , even my old vhs copy looks better with more vivid colours and less grain and damage...i wonder what went wrong

I got that movie on both also and mine is great quality. I also got the Trilogy, and living jewels on both vhs and dvd.. no problems great quality. Perhaps you got a bad copy..

thanks Nancy mmmm strange,

im not sure i have a bad copy as i would have thought they would all be mastered from the same digital master and its not like the disc is faulty just badly transfered using a poor source? i wouldnt have thought mine was a pirate copy either as i got it from the koi water barn.

i was really dissapointed as i was hoping for a much better picture than my old VHS not worse!

anyone else compared the video with the DVD perhaps in the U.K.?

p.s i just ordered the `yamakoshi trilogy` DVD to replace the video tape...i hope thats better?

Dont alot of those only work on computers? being the UK format? I know Frank M told me to get a cheapo DVD player and it might work, but cant seem to find one cheapo enough to do the trick.. thought the 39$ one would do it.. nope..LOL

Bob, Go to walmart look on the box, for pal regiion. the Aspire brand from them works great.

Wow I absolutely loved it. I thought the quality was great. Maybe I should get the VHS copy and compare the two. I bet Nancy is right and you got a bad copy of it.

It could be a copy that got exposed to a magnetic field of some kind, or it could be a problem with the software or DVD burner used to burn it, or it could be your DVD player has poor decoding software for the particular formatting of that disc, or a dirty/dying lens.You might try it in another DVD player from another manufacturer to see if it plays better. If not, the disc has a problem.

I too bought nishikigoi the movie and had a very bad quality copy dvd. There was even static on the dvd and very grainy. This was my first dvd and was very dissapointed but i had bought other movie dvds like yamakoshi trilogy and they were great.
