OK here's mom and baby, yes one can see the difference it makes in luster even in these poor specimens.

Never seen fukurin on a gosanke koi in person but hope to one day! Having several yamabuki and a couple of purchina, even in metallic koi there is varying quality and good even fukurin is not easily come by.

this is Ian's dad's koi, nice example I think of fukurin....

I will search in my archive to find some fukurin examples. When you see fukurin on gosanke its like a pearl white paintjob on the shiroji area of course

Fukurin! So that's what that is! I have a Kin Ki Utsuri with fukurin according to these pictures and explanations. I like it! No fukurin is nice and fukurin is nice too...IMHO (super humble since I'm a newbie)...two different looks...both very nice to me. So, now I will have a word to tell people about that Koi of mine that is so nice and shiny. Thanks! Learn something new here every day!
