Judge my 2 new ginrin showa's from Suzusei

These are my two new ginrin showa's. They are both 12". The breeder is Suzusei. This breeder is rapidly becoming one of my favorites. Let me know what you think.

Brutus: Colorful guys with a nice sparkle at this size. I think you will enjoy them, but as they grow you will find the GinRin is too dispersed and weak. Check out the GinRin Showa on the Keirin Koi site... IMO some of the best imported to the U.S.

You mean the ones from koda? They are good. The only thing I don't like is the heads are not very white for a ginrin showa of that size. Good ginrin though. I recently saw a bunch of ginrin showa from sakai (hiroshima). I truly thought the color on the Suzusei ginrin blew them away. When I saw them on japankoionline, I had to get them. Got an excellent auction price as well...$100(kindai showa) and $65(hi showa)...Its shipping that's the real killer these days. I am really impressed with the quality I see from Suzusei on the web, but none of my local koi shops carry anything from them. Had to bite the bullet and pay the shipping if I wanted koi from them.

If I had to judge your showa for Gin Rin, Showa number #2(Kindai) will win. That Showa looks to be probably 80% finish as Showa #1(Old style) is way from being finish.

Showa #2(Old style) will probably be finished in 2 years as for Showa #1(Kindai) it will be a 5 year project fish. But I think if your looking which one will grow larger I place my bet on Showa #1(Kindai).

Keep us up to date with the development.

Tony.
